2026 FIFA World Cup: Félix Tshisekedi Praises the Leopards’ Historic Campaign
Despite their 2–1 defeat to England in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s national team, the Leopards, received congratulations from President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who praised their outstanding performance and historic run in the tournament.
In an official statement, the Head of State paid tribute to the Congolese side for their “discipline, courage, and intelligence,” emphasizing that they played “without fear or inferiority” against the Three Lions, in line with the message he delivered in his address to the nation on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the country’s independence.
According to President Tshisekedi, this World Cup campaign will remain one of the greatest achievements in the sporting history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He also called on Congolese citizens, both at home and across the diaspora, to remain proud of their national team, which proudly represented the country on the international stage.

La réforme fiscale est une excellente nouvelle pour les PME. En tant qu'entrepreneur à Lubumbashi, je paye actuellement 30% d'impôts ce qui freine énormément mon développement. Vivement juillet 2026 !

Je reste sceptique. On entend ces discours depuis des années. Ce qui manque, c'est la volonté politique réelle et la lutte contre la corruption. Sans ça, aucune réforme ne fonctionnera.
