OCC: Who is Pierre Lohohola Osomba?
An internationally renowned researcher, university professor, and expert in chemical sciences, the new Director General of the Congolese Control Office (OCC), Professor Pierre Lohohola Osomba, has pledged to use his scientific excellence in the service of this institution of the Congolese people.
Holder of a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain (KU Leuven, Belgium), he is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Kinshasa.
At the helm of the General Directorate, he has a vision focused on modernizing laboratories, strengthening technical capacities, and promoting excellence in control, analysis, and certification activities. His expertise is also recognized through his roles as President of the Chemical Society of Congo (SOCHIMICO), expert at CEDIREME, and consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
As a reminder, the handover ceremony between outgoing Director General Dr. Étienne Tshimanga and incoming Director General Professor Pierre Lohohola Osomba took place on Tuesday, June 9, at the OCC General Directorate.

Enfin des réformes concrètes ! J'espère sincèrement que le gouvernement tiendra ses promesses cette fois. La question du financement reste cruciale et mérite des clarifications rapides.

La réforme fiscale est une excellente nouvelle pour les PME. En tant qu'entrepreneur à Lubumbashi, je paye actuellement 30% d'impôts ce qui freine énormément mon développement. Vivement juillet 2026 !

Je reste sceptique. On entend ces discours depuis des années. Ce qui manque, c'est la volonté politique réelle et la lutte contre la corruption. Sans ça, aucune réforme ne fonctionnera.
